Volume Loss

  • Volume loss refers to the gradual reduction in fat, muscle, bone, and collagen that naturally occurs as part of the aging process. This loss of volume can lead to changes in facial contours, resulting in a sunken or hollow appearance, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Various factors, including genetics, lifestyle choices, and environmental factors, can contribute to volume loss.

  • Volume loss can be caused by various factors, including aging, sun exposure, genetics, and lifestyle choices. As we age, the body's production of collagen and elastin decreases, contributing to the loss of skin volume. Chronic sun exposure, unhealthy lifestyle habits, and genetic predispositions can also play a role in accelerating volume loss.

  • Volume loss commonly affects areas such as the cheeks, temples, under-eyes, and hands. These areas may appear sunken, hollow, or less firm due to the reduction in fat pads and collagen.

  • The effects of volume loss can include hollow cheeks, under-eye hollows, sagging skin, and deepening wrinkles/folds. These changes can contribute to a tired or aged appearance and impact facial contours.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

  • Fine lines and wrinkles are common signs of aging that can affect the overall appearance of the skin. These age-related changes occur as a result of reduced collagen and elastin production, along with other factors such as sun exposure and genetics.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles are primarily caused by the natural aging process, which, over time, leads to a decrease in collagen and elastin production. Additionally, factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and repetitive facial expressions can contribute to the development of wrinkles.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles often appear on areas of the face that are subject to frequent movement, such as the forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet), and around the mouth. These areas are prone to dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expressions.

  • Dynamic wrinkles and static wrinkles are two main types of wrinkles that differ in their characteristics and causes.

Dynamic wrinkles are temporary and appear when the face is in motion due to muscle contractions during facial expressions like smiling or raising eyebrows.

In contrast, static wrinkles are deeper and more permanent, visible even when the facial muscles are at rest.

Platelet-Rich Plasma

  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that utilises the patient's own blood to stimulate natural healing processes and promote skin rejuvenation. PRP has gained popularity in the field of aesthetics for its ability to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

  • PRP treatment begins with a simple blood draw from the patient, which is then processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma. The concentrated PRP is then injected or applied topically to the treatment area to stimulate collagen production and enhance skin rejuvenation.

  • The number of PRP sessions needed can vary depending on individual skin concerns and treatment goals. Typically, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results.

  • Most patients can resume their daily activities immediately after PRP treatment, as there is minimal to no downtime associated with the procedure. However, it is important to follow post-treatment care instructions provided for best results.

Hair Restoration

  • Hair restoration with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical, innovative approach to addressing hair loss and promoting natural hair growth. PRP treatment harnesses the regenerative properties of the patient's own blood to stimulate follicle health and encourage hair regrowth, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking to enhance the fullness and vitality of their hair.

  • PRP therapy involves the extraction of the patient's blood, which is then processed to obtain a concentrated plasma rich in platelets. When injected into the scalp, the platelet-rich plasma encourages hair follicle regeneration, promotes blood circulation, and stimulates the healing process, ultimately leading to improved hair density and quality.

  • The number of PRP sessions needed for hair restoration can vary depending on individual factors such as the extent of hair loss and treatment goals. Typically, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results.

  • The timeline for noticeable results from PRP therapy can vary from patient to patient. While some individuals may observe initial improvements in hair texture and growth within a few months, the full benefits of the treatment usually become apparent after several months.

Dark Circles

  • Dark circles, also known as under eye circles or periorbital hyperpigmentation, are a common skin concern that can affect both men and women of all ages. Dark circles appear as dark, discoloured areas under the eyes and can be caused by a variety of factors such as genetics, sleep deprivation, allergies, aging, and lifestyle habits.

  • Dark circles can be caused by various factors including genetics, thinning skin, blood vessels showing through the skin, lack of sleep, dehydration, allergies, stress, and sun exposure.

  • Making lifestyle changes such as getting adequate sleep, staying hydrated, managing allergies, reducing sun exposure, and maintaining a healthy diet rich in antioxidants can help improve the appearance of dark circles over time.

  • Dark circles under the eyes can be caused by various factors, including:

    • Atopic dermatitis (eczema)

    • Contact dermatitis

    • Fatigue

    • Genetics

    • Rubbing or scratching the eyes

    • Skin changes due to aging

    • Changes in skin color, often related to conditions like melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

To address dark circles, it is essential to identify the underlying causes along with medical-grade treatments that may help alleviate this common cosmetic concern.

Excess Sweating

  • Excess sweating, medically known as hyperhidrosis, is a condition characterised by abnormal and uncontrollable sweating that goes beyond what is necessary for thermoregulation. Hyperhidrosis can significantly impact a person's quality of life, leading to discomfort, embarrassment, and social anxiety.

  • Hyperhidrosis can be caused by various factors, including genetics, hormonal changes, medical conditions (such as thyroid issues or diabetes), medications, or simply an overactive sympathetic nervous system that controls sweating.

  • Hyperhidrosis can affect specific areas of the body, with the most common being the underarms, palms, soles of the feet, and face. These regions tend to have a higher concentration of sweat glands.

  • Excessive sweating can lead to social discomfort, damp clothing, skin irritation, and a general feeling of self-consciousness. It may also interfere with work, social interactions, and activities that require physical contact or close proximity to others.

Poor Skin Quality

  • Poor skin quality can be identified by rough or uneven texture, dull complexion, dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and loss of elasticity, among other issues.

  • Poor skin quality can result from various factors, including environmental stressors, inadequate skincare routines, genetics, and lifestyle habits. These factors can contribute to issues such as rough texture, dullness, uneven tone, dryness, and visible signs of aging.

  • Lifestyle factors such as inadequate hydration, poor nutrition, smoking, excessive sun exposure, lack of sleep, and high stress levels can contribute to poor skin quality by accelerating aging processes and compromising skin health.

Peels

  • Exfoliation: Chemical peels remove dead skin cells and promote the growth of new, healthy skin.

Skin rejuvenation: They can improve the skin's texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Acne treatment: Chemical peels can help reduce acne breakouts and improve the appearance of acne scars.

Hyperpigmentation treatment: They can lighten dark spots, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

Collagen stimulation: Some chemical peels can stimulate collagen production, leading to firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

Minimisation of fine lines and wrinkles: Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leading to smoother skin.

  • Chemical peels are commonly used to address concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. They work by removing damaged outer skin layers, promoting cellular turnover, and stimulating collagen production.

  • Both facials and chemical peels can be tailored to suit various skin types, including sensitive, dry, oily, and combination skin. We can customise these treatments based on individual skin concerns and sensitivities.

Skin Needling

  • Dermapen 4™ delivers the ultimate in advanced microneedling and can create an astounding 1,920 puncture channels per second, up to 104% faster than other microneedling.

  • Anti-Ageing: Dermapen microneedling procedures boost the body’s natural healing response to increase collagen and elastin production for reduced wrinkles and lines.

Pigmentation: Unlike some laser treatments, Dermapen microneedling removes the risk of heat injury and hypopigmentation risks, while promoting optimised cell function.”

Enlarged Pores: Microneedling with Dermapen stimulates the skin to produce new collagen, plumping up and tightening the appearance of the enlarged pores.

Scarring: Dermapen 4 is the only microneedling device with a dedicated scar setting and protocols for revision of all scar types including acne scarring.

Stretch Marks: Many practitioners and patients have claimed that Dermapen Treatments™ have been more effective in treating stretch marks than other methods.

Acne: Dermapen Treatments visibly improve the appearance of problematic skin breakouts and black or whiteheads (comedones) and active acne.

  • The number of treatments required will depend on the severity of your concerns, though most patients require at least 4 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart.
